Others desire ongoing instruction and accountability. The choice is yours!

Individual Vitality Coaching
The Power of Accountability

​Wouldn't it be great to have someone walk along side you during your fitness and wellness journey?  Cathy's coaching program offers you on-going guidance, motivation, and accountability for your personal wellness goals, addressing the focus areas that are most important to you. This could include fitness, healthy eating, weight loss, or daily stress and energy. We'll first clarify your long-term vision and goals. Then we’ll look at your challenges as well as what motivates you. Finally, we'll pull it all together to create a plan that works, breaking long-term goals down into shorter-range goals. We'll set a check-in strategy and week by week, I'll be with you every step of the way. Support and accountability make all the difference!

Coaching is done over Zoom and includes text message support as well. Many clients benefit from a 12-week program to start, with the option to continue on a weekly or as-needed basis. When we talk, we'll customize a package just for you. ​​

STEPHANIE'S STORY
Cathy asked a very simple question, right? But I never thought of “why." I frantically searched for the “right” answer? I want to be thinner, or I want to be healthier  --  but the “why” was elusive. I didn’t understand it. I should know this answer. I was dismayed. Then it hit me. It came in an emotional flash. “I want to be around for my kids.” I said. Only eight words, but they were powerful and telling.

I know. I am not the first to find that specific motivation. It’s been said before. But I realize that by not voicing the motivation, not mentioning what means the most to me, my family, I could delay action. Basically, I was living in ignorant bliss. It was procrastination and denial at its finest.

But . . . Since then I have found myself part of a wonderful team in this program. The larger Team Cathy, and the smaller team of my daily wellness cheerleaders. We walk together, hold each other accountable, and most importantly talk about the challenges we face. My family at home,  my motivation, have also been incredible. They support me, ask about my progress, are patient as I pace the kitchen to get steps, and even tolerate changes to the dinner menu.

Let’s be honest. It is not always comfortable which was evident in my first few meetings with Cathy. If you were a fly on the wall you would have heard “I have no time to exercise”, “What! A vegetarian meal? I don’t think so.”, “10,000 steps a day!?”

Then I lost a pound, and another, and more. The tone and my attitude changed. I was excited to share my exercise shortcuts (like running up the hall when no one else was around). I was eating vegetarian meals, and enjoying them. I was consistently getting 10,000 steps a day. I was doing it! – I am doing it!

But my story is more than that, and I prefer to focus on what I have gained;

Friends:  There is a lot to say about support and not being alone. Whether to lose weight, get in shape, or learn healthy habits, there is strength in numbers. And who doesn’t thrive off a little competition. The challenges have been fun.

A new wardrobe - sort of:  I am not finished with my journey, so I have to curtail my want to buy clothes.  But I really like buying things in smaller sizes.

Compliments: I know, this is tricky because not everyone wants acknowledgement. But I do! I love when people notice my efforts.

Energy:  I feel so much better. I have energy, less aches and pains, and I am just plain healthier.
I appreciate the opportunity to be part of this program!  I certainly appreciate my team mates, and Cathy.  Cathy has been a great resource, motivator and friend.   But I am most thankful for whatever happened during that first meeting when a stifled inspiration was thrust into light. It was a pivotal moment. In a word “WOW!”


LOUISE'S STORY
My wellness journey has been so awesome and I have learned so much. I attribute my success to four factors: my new relationship with food, my lifestyle change, the weight loss challenge part of the program, and my coach Cathy Richards!!

MY NEW RELATIONSHIP WITH FOOD
I have a new relationship with food. I no longer have a serious relationship with food.  Instead, I have a rather casual relationship.  I no longer think after finishing lunch “Now what am I going to eat for dinner?” I don’t need food for comfort anymore. I am too excited and happy to need it to make myself feel better. Instead, I look at food to fuel my body and make healthy choices because of this.

LIFESTYLE CHANGE
I love to jump out of bed every morning and put on my workout clothes, brush my teeth and head for the outdoors to take my morning walk. This starts the day off so well. I count my blessings on my walk and sometimes make up new songs or poems along the way. I also plan my day while walking. I don’t have time to make excuses for not working out or making poor choices. I write in “MyFitnessPal” every single day and plan my meals ahead of time. So, if I go out to dinner, I can eat lightly throughout the day and then enjoy myself moderately.

WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE
I loved being in the weight loss challenge of this program. It was such a great competition and kept me in check. I got second runner up in the challenge and ran over to the sporting good store to get my prize with my wonderful gift card Coach Cathy gave me.

MY COACH
I couldn’t ask for a better coach for me. Cathy has been inspiring, supportive and a full blown cheerleader for me. I had a time where I was just hanging out at the same weight and Cathy kicked me in the butt and did some heavy duty problem solving with me to get me back on track and back on my losing streak!!

I have lost almost twenty pounds so far on this program. People are coming up to almost daily and asking what I am doing to lose weight.  I am wearing clothes that have been hanging in my closet for two or three years. Some with the tags still on them!! I am so excited for what lies ahead. I feel like I haven’t reached my peak yet!  I want to lose another forty pounds….then I will weigh what it says on my driver’s license!!
