When I think about what Inspiring Vitality means, these two concepts rise to the top:
Boom meaning "Did I just hit the nail on the head with these two phrases?" Longevity: living a longer and healthier life. This is THE goal of my work and something we are all striving for but...it doesn't just happen. It's harder for some than for others. There are competing priorities in life and temptations all around that take us off track for the habits that will lead to longevity. Some of us are always just shy of getting our act together to reap the benefits of healthy choices. How can we get closer to that goal? Perhaps it's by focusing on something that can also be a goal of itself: Intentional Living: Taking the time and focus to make choices day by day that are aligned with our goals, rather than continually living on autopilot or by old, unintentional habits while yet ANOTHER month, year, or decade passes by. The further I get into this decade of life (my 50s) and the more I see my children age up to become young adults and the older adults in my life die or succumb to dementia and other ailments, the more urgency I feel to make the most of the time I have on this earth. That includes staying as healthy as I can but it also includes taking that trip, having that dinner party, and making those phone calls to my loved ones every darn day! Can you relate? How many times have you asked time to SLOW DOWN...please!? While I can't make time slow down, I can be more INTENTIONAL with how I spend it. And the more intentional I get with how I spend my time, the more at peace I am WITH the passage of time. Of course it's not easy, and that's why building GRIT has been a skill I've been honing over the past year. If this resonates with you, I'd love for you to check out my brand new offering: BOOM: Intentional Living and Longevity. I am opening the doors for founding members! Please join me!
